Need Caffeine – Fabric!
As I recover from Stitches West today, I’m already on my second cup of strong coffee. So, thought I’d find a fun fabric to match what I’m up to today and in searching Spoonflower, I found this gem! Yes, there may be some Yarn Pop bags made with this one.
Happy President’s Day!
Stitches West 2011 – Wow!
Just got back from Stitches West 2011, and let me just say, Wow! It was a great show for Top Shelf Totes. We launched our Yarn Pop™ product, which went very well. I loved meeting so many of my fellow knitters and new customers! I’ll be doing a more in depth post on the show later this week (which will include an overview of all the great yarn I found!).
For now, here is a picture of the booth right before the show floors opened.
Tree Hearts
I love fabrics that have a cool geometric look to them. This one fits the bill and is a great color. I think this fabric is perfect for totes and pouches.
Happy sewing!
Math Equations + Fabric = Awesome!
I completely admit that I’m a bit of a geek. When I run across patterns that let my geeky girl smile, I must share them.
I have been known to doodle while on the phone, and more often than not you will see math symbols. So now you’ll understand why I bookmarked this fabric over on Spoonflower immediately.
Let’s do some math (and some sewing)!
More on the Spring Line
I decided to sit down and sew, sew, sew and out of that came a few more designs. I’ve posted some up on Etsy.
Let me know what you think of the designs. Do you have a favorite?
Spring Line – Sneak Peak
Just made the first design for my Yarn Pop™ Spring line. Thought I’d give you a sneak peak.
This one is Dandelions in black on white canvas with yellow lining and a big purple zipper:
Look forward to sharing more as I go and getting the line out into the store.
Have a great Thursday!
Orange Slices
While we’re in the middle of winter, doesn’t a print with bright orange slices sound divine! I thought so. When I found this on Spoonflower I immediately smiled. The color and the slices all look great on the white background. Do you agree?
Stay warm out there!
Robot Fabric!
Okay, so I’m in love with Spoonflower. They have been around for awhile and they have gotten a lot of people to sign up for the service as designers. So, as I search through their available prints, I will share some of my fun finds with you.
First up, Robots! Who doesn’t love good robot prints. This one I love because it is simple and clean but with a lot of good detail.
Starting Up – Again!
I took a decent size hiatus, mainly because I have been starting a whole other venture. While doing this venture I realized that I truly missed creating, so now I am back to doing sewing (and knitting). I love it! In the process of coming back to knitting, I ran into a problem. Most people were still recommending that people use Ziploc bags with holes cut in the corner of them when they need a good way to separate skeins and keep them clean.
Well, I for one am not a fan of plastic bags around my yarn and don’t think it looks cute. So I got down to the business of designing, and finally came up with a design that I was happy with (and even have a patent pending on it now!). I even have others asking how they can get their hands on them, so I’ve decided to re-open my Etsy store with a new look, a new product line and a new focus.
Here are a few pictures of the bag designs I currently have. I’m in the process of creating a spring/summer line right now and am even in discussions with some brick and mortar yarn shops. Yay!
If you want a bag ad you need more grommets or something specific, let me know. Also, if you have any local shops (yarn, sewing, etc.) that you you think may be interested in carrying this line, please let me know. I am in the process of putting together my online ‘book’ of samples for spring/summer and would love to hear of fabulous stores to approach.

Sunflowers for Spring and Summer
I love sunflowers. They are bright, big and bold. So, when I started creating with some great modern sunflower fabric, I just wanted to keep making more products! I love the dark brown color with the simple clean lines. It makes it fun to put a bright print as the lining of the bag.
Here is the latest bag I made out of the fabric. What do you think?
